What have you been reading?

I've been reading a lot this summer to get ready for school this fall...

I read "Shipwreck at the Bottom of the World" I couldn't put it down I'm very excited to share this book with my students.

I read "Lily's Crossing" by Patricia Reilly Giff

"Woodsong" by Gary Paulsen

"Peak" and "Soul Surfer" are the two that are next on my list. I've heard great things about both of these books and can't wait to lose myself in them.

Please respons and share the titles you've read and what you thought of them...

I am so excited to have time this summer to read books for pleasure! The best book I've read so far is "The Kitchen God's Wife" by Amy Tan. It is about a Chinese woman and her mother's story of emigrating from China. I was immersed in the culture as I read it and would highly recommend it.

I am not reading "Memoirs of a Geisha" (I must be on an Asian theme!) It also is a good read with insights into Japan in the 1930s.

That will teach me to click "publish" before proofreading! I meant to say above that I am NOW reading "Memoirs of a Geisha" - I would recommend it also.
